Sad News

The club has had some very sad news today.

One of the clubs long serving members Ken Bull passed away yesterday.

Our condolences go out to his wife Lorraine & family.

Guiseley beat Rufford in tense Hutchinson Cup game

Guiseley A beat Rufford A by 12 at Xgates. 6 winners each in a tight game with best for Guiseley Colin Matthewman with a 21-7 win whilst Rufford skipper Martyn Benson was a good 21-8 winner. Winning and deciding game for me was Guiseley’s Margaret Orchard who came in as a late replacement beating Rufford’s Alan Caine 21-20. I was totally shocked when Margaret told us in the car on the way back she was only two years short of being 90 years old !!!!!! I thought she was just about 80’ish. She bowled superbly on a lovely xgates surface playing some really good bowls, even when Alan took her in the corners she kept bowling one in to get the jack back. Really proud of Margaret today and a well fought win against a Rufford team who had a few players missing but still put up a great fight.
